THE SENTINELS

A series of lighthouses standing as sentinels towards the sea to the shores, in the early morning mists, capturing the iridescence of light in the haunting pale colours. These are usually large oil paintings on a deep sided canvases and always ready to hang. The deep profile is painted in a colour to tone and there is no need to frame. The palettes are pale melanges of pastel colours to define and to enhance the misty and somewhat mysterious atmosphere with a rather Turneresque feel.
